Joshua tells the people of Israel that they must choose this day whom they will serve (Joshua 24:14-15). As for Joshua and his house, they would choose to serve the Lord. What if this is the challenge that we give ourselves each day? What if each morning we deliberately and intentionally chose to serve the Lord? If we don’t choose, then something else will inevitably choose us.
God continues to pursue us because we are created in His image. This is an example of His grace. Unfortunately, our understanding of grace is a mile wide and an inch deep.

What are our motives when it comes to living out our faith? We need to learn to think big about God. We need to renew our minds and see ourselves as God sees us. The Ragamuffin Gospel is about Jesus accepting and loving people right where they are.

When Jesus is not on the stage and isnāt in front of a crowd, He is still ministering behind closed doors. What a model of how we are to live! Before Jesus speaks one word in the Upper Room, Jesus has to get His disciplesā attention.

Christ came to save us and thereās nothing we do to earn this grace. God accepts us just as we are and this is the ragamuffin part of all of us. This is the picture of Godās love, yet we lean away from His love feeling a little squeamish towards it. Imagine if for a day you saw yourself the way God truly sees you ā¦ as one who is loved. Bask in the acceptance of Godās love for you. Believe that He accepts you not because He has to accept you, but He accepts you because He truly loves you. We have peace when God is all we seek.
