For this year’s trip\, we are inviting the youth to participate in a mission opportunity with Widows Harvest in Chattanooga\, TN. This ministry was introduced to us by Bruce Howard\, (our lovely trips & retreats chef and a wonderful chaperone of our youth ministry) who has personally witnessed and experienced the hand of God through this organization while he served as a chaperone for previous youth groups trips years ago. This organization focuses on loving\, supporting and assisting the widows of the community of Chattanooga. The youth will have the opportunity to build relationships with the widows we are serving\, attend a prayer & bible study meeting led by the widows\, as well as participate in a week-long construction project to help repair and restore the home of a local widow. The mission of the ministry is “Taking responsibility for the ongoing care of widows\, thus fulfilling the mandate in Isaiah 1:17\, “Defend the cause of the fatherless\, plead the case of the widow.” \n\n\n\nWith St. Paul Youth\, we are always looking for opportunities and ways to create cross generational interaction where our youth experience the heart\, wisdom\, story of other people that are not in our season of life.
